Celebrate the season of giving with AWL as we partner with Meta House for a special holiday initiative supporting women in our Milwaukee community.
Meta House provides comprehensive residential and outpatient treatment and support for women experiencing substance use disorders and housing instability. Its family-centered approach is especially meaningful: mothers can work toward recovery while their children are included in the process. This holiday season, AWL is excited to help make Meta House’s new campus feel a little warmer, brighter, and more festive for the women and families it serves.
What to Expect
Deck the Halls: We’ll kick off the afternoon by decorating the lobby of Meta House’s new campus for the holiday season. Members are encouraged to bring and donate Christmas ornaments, holiday decorations, and other festive items to help make the space feel welcoming and bright. Every contribution helps!
Tour the New Campus: After decorating the lobby, we’ll enjoy a brief tour of the new facility and learn more about Meta House’s important work in our community.
Community Cookie Decorating: We’ll wrap up with cookie decorating alongside participants in Meta House’s Residential Program and their children. Meta House will provide all cookie-decorating supplies. Members are encouraged to stay, mingle, and share in the joy of the season with the families who make this organization so special.

Please bring holiday decorations or ornaments to use for decorating day-of and to donate to Meta House. Cookie-decorating supplies will be provided.
AWL is thrilled to offer our members an opportunity to give back in a tangible, personal way. This is more than decorating a lobby or sharing cookies; it’s an opportunity to help create a welcoming environment, connect with women and families in our community, and bring a little extra joy to the holiday season.
Space is limited to 15 participants, so we encourage members to register only if they are able to make the commitment and attend. We want to make the most of this opportunity and ensure Meta House can count on our support!
