Celebrating 100 Years of Women’s Right to Vote:
Giving Voice to Women Then and Now

AWL and the The Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association proudly presents a program commemorating the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. Speakers will discuss the history of women’s suffrage in Wisconsin and the continuing impact of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote. The speakers will also examine recent voting trends, contemporary events, and the current status of women as voters.

Program speakers:

  • Alli Karrels -- Director, Wade House Historic Site, Wisconsin Historical Society
  • Kathleen Dolan, Ph.D. -- Distinguished Professor of Political Science, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
  • Honorable Nancy Joseph (moderator) -- United States Magistrate Judge, Eastern District of Wisconsin

Guests are invited to arrive at 2:00 p.m. to view the Wisconsin Historical Society’s traveling display, “We Stand on Their Shoulders: A History of Wisconsin Women and Voting,” and are invited to stay for light refreshments after the program.
