Whether or not you attended the Closing the Gavel Gap event last fall, this continued conversation is an opportunity to learn more about pursuing careers within the judiciary or gain other valuable wisdom from mentors involved with the court system.
Are you interested in learning about what it takes to pursue a career in the judiciary from those with first-hand experience? Wherever you are in your career—whether you’re interested in the judicial process in the next year or in the distant future, whether you’ve dreamed of becoming a judge since you were a kid or are just curious about it—this event is for you. An impressive slate of mentors—including state court, municipal court, and federal court judges, as well as individuals involved with the judicial selection and election processes—will be on hand to answer questions about becoming a judge and chat informally about their experiences. A complete list of mentors will be distributed to attendees in advance of the event.
The event is co-sponsored by AWL, the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association, and the Wisconsin Asian American Bar Association. There will be appetizers and a cash bar. With the networking format, you are welcome to stay as late as you are able or leave as early as you need.
Please use the Wisconsin Club’s valet entrance off of 10th St., on the north side of the building. The front desk staff will direct you to the Deutscher Room.
Contact Christa Wittenberg with any questions. Registration is requested by October 14th.
