Gift Bag Drive for Women in Shelters

The AWL Community Outreach Committee is conducting a “Gift Bag” drive to benefit women at area shelters and organizations. The gift bags are donated to the Sojourner Truth House and to the Womens Center, where they are given to victims of domestic violence. These women and children often arrive at the shelters with little more than the clothes on their backs.   

AWL has held similar drives in the past and the items and received enthusiastic feedback. The bags were greatly appreciated by the recipients. The items the committee is looking for include:

• Small toiletry products
• Personal care items
• Sample size lotions
• Soaps
• Shampoo and conditioner
• Single pack tissues
• Cosmetics
• Sample perfumes
• Journal size notebooks
• Pens/pencils
• Dollar store gift items
• Candies or mints
• Any other small items that a woman would find uplifting, in any quantities.

Please consider donating and/or conducting a drive within your firm or agency to benefit these women. Items can be dropped off on April 1st at Women Judges’ Night.

Donations will also be collected at the following drop-off locations until April 29th:
