Welcome to the Association for Women Lawyers! Whether you're new to our organization or a current or returning member, we hope you will find encouragement, education, support, and friendship through our programs and events. We are excited to be currently going through strategic planning for our organization. AWL offers a variety of opportunities for professional development, community involvement, and personal support. Whether you choose to attend one of our CLE programs, a discussion group luncheon, or develop your referral base by connecting with other members at a networking event, you'll find that AWL provides quality programming on current legal issues with respected speakers. Helpful practice tips are also available in our monthly newsletter.

AWL is a southeastern Wisconsin-based organization with members of all ages and all types of legal professionals. Our members range from  public to private practitioners, solo shops to large firms, members of the judiciary, along with in-house counsel, educators, and lawyers practicing non-traditional careers. We understand the importance of networking, for personal and professional reasons. Our goal is to provide events that interest everyone, and we hope to ensure that we continue this through our strategic planning efforts. Our networking and social events are the perfect opportunity to make those important connections and build relationships. AWL provides opportunities for its members to be involved  
in the organization by leading a discussion group or becoming involved in one of our committees.

Our premiere event, Women Judges' Night, celebrates the achievements of women in the judiciary and is generally held in late winter or early spring each year.  We announce the date and speaker in late fall. As part of our mission to promote women in the law, we are also proud that the proceeds from Women Judges' Night fund scholarships awarded by the AWL Foundation to female law students at Marquette University Law School and the University of Wisconsin Law School. AWL, through the AWL Foundation, has extended these scholarships for the past 25 years, and we hope to continue to extend them for many more.
