Grab lunch and join fellow working moms for a relaxed group discussion of Uptime by Laura Mae Martin.

A productivity expert at Google and a mom of three, Martin offers practical strategies for managing your time, energy, and ever-growing to-do list at work and at home. Come ready to swap ideas, share what's working (and what isn't!), and leave with a few new tricks for getting it all done.

If you have not read the book, or had the time to do so, don’t let that dissuade you from attending and joining in on the conversation. Lunch is provided by von Briesen, so there's no cost to attend.

A Season of Giving: Deck the Halls & Decorate Cookies with Meta House (Wednesday, December 02, 2026)

Celebrate the season of giving with AWL as we partner with Meta House for a special holiday initiative supporting women in our Milwaukee community.

Meta House provides comprehensive residential and outpatient treatment and support for women experiencing substance use disorders and housing instability. Its family-centered approach is especially meaningful: mothers can work toward recovery while their children are included in the process. This holiday season, AWL is excited to help make Meta House’s new campus feel a little warmer, brighter, and more festive for the women and families it serves.

What to Expect

Deck the Halls: We’ll kick off the afternoon by decorating the lobby of Meta House’s new campus for the holiday season. Members are encouraged to bring and donate Christmas ornaments, holiday decorations, and other festive items to help make the space feel welcoming and bright. Every contribution helps!

Tour the New Campus: After decorating the lobby, we’ll enjoy a brief tour of the new facility and learn more about Meta House’s important work in our community.

Community Cookie Decorating: We’ll wrap up with cookie decorating alongside participants in Meta House’s Residential Program and their children. Meta House will provide all cookie-decorating supplies. Members are encouraged to stay, mingle, and share in the joy of the season with the families who make this organization so special.

Other Details

Please bring holiday decorations or ornaments to use for decorating day-of and to donate to Meta House. Cookie-decorating supplies will be provided.

AWL is thrilled to offer our members an opportunity to give back in a tangible, personal way. This is more than decorating a lobby or sharing cookies; it’s an opportunity to help create a welcoming environment, connect with women and families in our community, and bring a little extra joy to the holiday season.

Space is limited to 15 participants, so we encourage members to register only if they are able to make the commitment and attend. We want to make the most of this opportunity and ensure Meta House can count on our support!

Drafting to Avoid Fiduciary Litigation -- an Estate Planning Discussion Group CLE (Tuesday, January 12, 2027)

Grab lunch and join fellow estate planners for a presentation by Aaron Hall and Jessica Taylor on drafting estate planning and other legal documents to avoid fiduciary litigation. Lunch will be provided by AWL to in-person attendees, so there’s no cost to attend!

Participants can also attend virtually via Teams. CLE credit will be available.

Aaron Hall is a partner at Amundsen Davis. Aaron is a seasoned litigator with broad experience handling a variety of complex commercial litigation matters. He represents individual and institutional trustees and personal representatives in litigation pertaining to the administration of trusts and estates. He has experience representing clients in disputes relating to claims of undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, fiduciary liability, fiduciary removal, improper exclusion of beneficiaries and trust/will construction.

Aaron’s experience in construction litigation includes handling an assortment of construction disputes involving the representation of contractors, project owners, and material suppliers on both the plaintiff and defense side. He has experience defending and prosecuting mechanic’s lien foreclosure matters. Aaron also defends against claims of a seller’s alleged failure to disclose defects relating to both residential and commercial properties.

Prior to law school, Aaron worked for an insurance company and handled serious injury claims, which gave him an early insight to some of the coverage disputes he sees today. Aaron’s experience in the insurance field ranges from defending liability cases to coverage interpretation and disputes. In addition, he also handles commercial litigation, contract claims, tort claims, UCC claims, intellectual property matters, white collar criminal defense, labor and employment matters and creditor rights matters such as commercial foreclosures and commercial evictions.

As a former prosecutor in the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, Aaron logged thousands of hours in the courtroom. This experience shapes his perspective and allows him to analyze a case with an eye towards how it may play out in court.

Jessica Taylor is an associate attorney at Amundsen Davis. Jessica’s practice primarily consists of Trust & Estate Litigation since graduating from law school in 2021. Her practice combines the procedural rigor of civil litigation with the practical considerations that arise in T&E matters. Because these disputes are often quite personal and involve deeply rooted family dynamics, she brings a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to helping clients navigate challenging situations while advancing their legal objectives.
